Synopsis
She was an inconspicuous maidservant, who, in order to cure her gravely ill mother, stood in for her mistress to consummate her marriage with the Regent King. Little did she expect her mistress to break her promise, failing not only to cure her mother but also using her mother as a pawn for control. Concerned for her mother’s safety, she acquiesced and endured at every turn, gradually pushed to the brink. After awakening to the truth, she no longer held back, vowing to firmly tread upon all those who had mistreated and humiliated her. She took the initiative to approach the Regent King and, unintentionally, earned his favor, leading to a life without shame. Just as everyone expected her to be forsaken, the Regent King held two children in his arms, pitifully subjected to her scolding. Once she had voiced her grievances, the Regent King unexpectedly picked her up and said, “I am both physically and emotionally wounded, and I need compensation.” Is this… still the Regent King who is known for his ruthless ways?
